Laid back luxury in Portugal's Algarve, another third space for you, Spanish flair in the West Village
Stay of the Week

Laid back luxury in Portugal's Algarve
Tucked away in Portugal’s Algarve, Quinta do Pinheiro is the kind of place that feels like a secret—until you get there and wonder how you ever lived without it. Behind the rustic charm of a 19th-century farmhouse, this secluded retreat blends laid-back luxury with the untamed beauty of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Signature cherry-red windows frame sweeping views, while inside, sun-washed tones shift with the light, setting the scene for effortless sophistication. Days unfold at your own pace—boat trips, paddleboarding, golf, or a breezy bike ride along the lagoon. And if you’ve been loving the electric-grandpa, coastal-grandma, tomato-girl-summer, and fisherman-aesthetic trends, this is them brought to life. At once exclusive and inviting, Quinta do Pinheiro is a quiet escape that feels both luxurious and like home.

Another Third Space for You
If you’re on TikTok, chances are you’ve heard of Recess Grove. If not, allow us to introduce you. Located on Grand Street in Williamsburg, this art-café hybrid is a breath of fresh air in our high-stress world. It offers a welcoming space for everyone, from seasoned artists to the artistically challenged, where creativity flows freely without the pressure to consume, do anything, or be anywhere. You’re encouraged to embrace your creative impulses—whether that means doodling on a scrap of paper (there are even books on the bar counter offering doodling prompts), contributing to the ever-evolving communal mural on Friday nights, or simply enjoying the peacefulness of analog activity. They also serve wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks, but they won’t pressure you to purchase anything if you don’t want to. After having been there a few times already, we can’t recommend it enough. It’s perfect for going solo or with a friend or two - and they have a back patio opening soon!

Spanish Flair in the West Village
The West Village is calling us back—first Zimmi’s, then Demo, and now Bartolo, the latest from the team behind Ernesto’s. Chef Ryan Bartlow is bringing his signature Spanish flair to 310 West Fourth Street, this time with an intimate, under-50-seat spot inspired by the cozy, family-run restaurants of Madrid and Castile. Named after his old San Sebastián nickname, Bartolo is a full-circle moment for Bartlow, who’s returning to the West Village, where he once led Quality Eats. Expect bold flavors, a soulful menu, and the kind of hospitality that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. Opening April—see you there.
